Njihova dostupnost je kratka, ali upravo ih to \u010dini posebnima \u2013 dolaze u trenutku kada tijelo prirodno tra\u017ei lak\u0161u, svje\u017eiju hranu.<\/p><p>U Istri, gdje \u017eive moji roditelji, branje divljih \u0161paroga dio je proljetnih rituala. To nije samo potraga za hranom, nego i na\u010din povezivanja s prirodom i njezinim ritmom. Divlje \u0161paroge posebno su cijenjene zbog intenzivnijeg okusa i svoje sezonske zbog svog specifi\u010dnog okusa, tako i zbog svojstava koja su prepoznata jo\u0161 u najranijim civilizacijama. Potje\u010du iz mediteranskih podru\u010dja, no vrlo rano su se po\u010dele \u0161iriti i uzgajati u drugim dijelovima svijeta.<\/p><p>Vjeruje se da su ih uzgajali jo\u0161 stari Egip\u0107ani, dok su u anti\u010dkoj Gr\u010dkoj i Rimu bile poznate kao prehrambena i kao ljekovita biljka, ali i kao afrodizijak. Nakon razdoblja smanjene upotrebe tijekom srednjeg vijeka, ponovno dobivaju na zna\u010daju u 17. i 18. stolje\u0107u, osobito na francuskom dvoru za vrijeme Luja XIV., gdje postaju cijenjena sezonska namirnica.<\/p><p>Danas se \u0161paroge uzgajaju u velikom dijelu svijeta, naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e u mediteranskim zemljama, ali i u Peruu, Meksiku i Sjedinjenim Ameri\u010dkim Dr\u017eavama.<\/p><p>Identificirano je oko 300 vrsta \u0161paroga, no tek manji broj je jestiv \u2013 pribli\u017eno dvadesetak vrsta koristi se u
